No Period Poverty——Girls, Don't let menstruation kidnap you

Period Poverty refers to the common phenomenon of inability to purchase products such as sanitary pads and tampons. Many people are forced to use items such as cloths, tissues, toilet paper, or cardboard instead of hygiene products.

Globally, an estimated 500 million people with menstrual cycles are unable to access menstrual supplies.

The BBC once launched a "period expenditure calculator". Assuming a woman starts menstruating from the age of 12 to the age of 55, she will need to spend $2011 on hygiene products throughout her life, with an average annual expenditure of $46.This is not a small expense.

For most women, due to economic reasons, they choose cheap hygiene products or use fabrics to treat menstrual blood during their menstrual period, which can cause gynecological diseases, even infertility, and many women may die as a result.

When they cannot afford these hygiene products, they may miss classes, lose their jobs, and even face external criticism and strange looks.

Panic, shame, and awkwardness have become the most common adjectives that many women associate with menstruation.

If the whole society cannot correctly recognize that women's menstruation is just a normal physiological phenomenon, unnecessary biases and misunderstandings will arise, exacerbating women's sense of period shame. It is also important to remember that not all menstruators are women, and not all women experience menstruation. As transgender individuals, menstruation also troubles them.

Over time, Period Shame  becomes a huge iceberg underwater, with problems emerging one after another and pain coming one after another. Those who bear the pain dare not speak up, while those who do not bear the pain see it as meaningless.

To help girls escape from period poverty, it is necessary to break the "Period Silence" and make society pay more attention to and face the period difficulties faced by women, so that women can conveniently access affordable and safe hygiene products and spend their menstrual period with dignity.

What we aspire to pursue is an open and equal social environment where women's menstrual periods can be openly discussed.

We provide safe and environmentally friendly period underwear that can replace sanitary tampons, allowing women to enjoy more comfortable services with less money.
